I’ve been struggling to manage my pain for most of February, and this has unfortunately had a big impact on my mental health. I’m in the middle of a flare up that has me especially struggling with my ability to filter out and diffuse the different assortment of shocking and often harsh, pain signals that are all simultaneously attacking my brain. It’s constant and I don’t get a break from it. After a while that wears on you…and it’s been wearing on me since March 2008.
This cold, wet weather and barometric pressure really wreak havoc on my pain and energy and not to be drastic, but I feel totally burnt out and completely depleted by it all. It’s the same cycle every fall and winter and it’s exhausting, and never ending, and many times it’s worse than the year before. I get anticipatory anxiety before the fall weather sets in, because I know how bad it’s going to be.
It’s difficult, because when I get to this feeling of suffering from burnout, as I don’t get a break from my pain to recharge. My pain never stops, it’s just always there, and because I don’t ever get a break from it, it means that I don’t ever get any peace to recharge the same way an able bodied person would.
So how do I find the inspiration and motivation to keep going? One big thing is reading positive short stories, articles and posts and inspirational quotes of varied motivational and life themes online. It helps me stay in a more positive frame of mind and inspires me to keep going after my dreams and goals.
This got me thinking…I can’t be the only one who is suffering because of the weather and time of year, and I also can’t be the only one that likes reading motivating and inspiring things online as a sort of pick me up.
So I’m creating a weekly post, on Sunday’s, that will give you my “Quotes To Inspire Your Week". I aim to have a nice mix of quotes posted each Sunday to help inspire your week ahead.
If I’m going to pull out of this pain flare and break free from it’s devastating effects, I’m going to need to do things that benefit my mental and physical health. Reading quotes and short stories that are inspiring is just one way I use to cope with the pain.
