Inspirational quotes can really lift my mood when it is brought down by pain or unpleasant side effects from pain and medication. On the harder days, I seek out ways to manage, and cling to them to get me through the day. And on the good days, I also seek out ways to manage, but they don’t have to be my sole focus. Both look similar.
How I work my self care, is that it’s part scheduling time for self care activities, certain times of day or certain days, and it’s part listening to what my mind and body need at that moment to be ok.
My bestie and I meet for lunch every day, and hang out most nights. I see my mother-in-law every afternoon for crafts or some activity. Saturday nights my husband and I play crib and go in the hot tub. This is some of my scheduled self care.
Some days I need a lot of little, attainable ways to fill my cup and a lot of quiet. Other days, I get my chores done in the morning, accomplishing my to do list for that day, and in the afternoon work on what my mind feels it needs at that moment. Sometimes it’s journaling, or working on a blog post, brainstorming upcoming blog posts, and sometimes it’s reading graphic novels or one of my business books. Depending how I feel, I might watch TV while cuddling with the dogs or reading. Now that I’m back online, I am trying to schedule time in my day to check social media. I didn’t use it for so long, that it’s not really a habit yet. Hence me needing reminders or a schedule I can follow.
Here are some self care and inspirational quotes for you to think on:
