Happy 1st Blogiversary to It’s Complex! - Celebrating 1 Year Of Blogging

Blog Post Mere Pic (11)One year ago this month, I hit publish on my very first blog post for It’s Complex — and I could never have imagined what a meaningful journey it would become. What started as a place to share my experiences with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and chronic pain, has grown into a supportive space where I’ve connected with so many of you who are navigating life with chronic pain, invisible illness, and all the complexity that comes with it.

Thank You for Being Here

To everyone who’s read a post, shared a comment, subscribed to the newsletter, bought a journal, or downloaded one of my free resources: thank you. Your encouragement, your stories, and your presence have reminded me that even in the most isolating moments of chronic pain, we are not alone. You’ve made this blog what it is — a community built on understanding, strength, and real talk about living with pain.

What's Next for meredithhutton79.com

I’m thrilled to share what’s coming up as I take It’s Complex into its second year — and it's all about taking what I’ve built and making it even more helpful, more accessible, and more empowering.

✍️ Post-by-Post Upgrades

I’m going back to the very beginning and update every blog post — starting with the first one that started it all. Each post is getting refreshed with clearer writing, more detailed insights, and brand-new custom graphics to make the information easier to digest and visually engaging.

🎧🎥 Audio & Video Versions

Whether reading is tough because of brain fog, fatigue, or just the reality of multitasking life with pain, I want you to have options. I’ll be adding audio recordings and video versions of each post, so you can listen on the go, watch with captions, or revisit topics in whatever format feels best for you that day.

📝 Worksheets & Exercises

Every blog post will soon be paired with a downloadable worksheet or written exercise designed to help you apply the information directly to your life. Whether it’s tracking flare-ups, identifying sensory triggers, or building new routines, these tools are meant to support real change in small, manageable steps.

📚 A Growing Library of Resources

Blog Post Mere Pic (10)My goal has always been to provide tools that are both useful and affordable. This last year I created a mini library of resources — that include my pain trackers, planners, wellness prompts, and more — that you can order off Amazon (https://www.amazon.ca/stores/author/B0DSWNMYXQ) or Amazon alternative Books.by (https://books.by/app/bookstores/meredithhutton79). These are expertly designed based on my experiences with chronic pain and using other journals and what I’ve created are for real people living real lives with pain, not just the idealized version we see in wellness ads. This means there is lots of room for all the complex details that accompany chronic pain, so that you can get the full picture.

Why This Matters

Chronic pain isn’t just a medical condition — it’s a life condition. And we deserve spaces that reflect that. It’s Complex is growing into more than just a blog; it’s becoming a practical support hub for anyone who lives with pain or supports someone who does.

So whether you’ve been here since post one or this is your first time visiting, I hope you’ll stick around for Year Two. There’s so much more to come — and I can’t wait to share it with you.

With gratitude and excitement,

Meredith, Founder of It’s Complex | meredithhutton79.com
