What's Upcoming?...
I am really excited to spill the beans on some really cool things I’m working on that I will be releasing over the next few months.
-I’ve written a modern day Sherlock Holmes with my novella “The Crimson in the Concrete”, a spin on Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes first novel “A Study in Scarlet”. This novella introduces Charlotte Holmes and Dr. Joanna Watson and tells the story of their meeting and how their working together all began. I added a big twist to the plot though, to make it more relevant to today and to reflect my niche of chronic pain. Not only did I write the modern tale with Holmes and Watson as female characters, but Charlotte suffers from the very painful condition Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and Dr. Joanna Watson is back from the war suffering from nerve damage and PTSD. The bond that Charlotte and Joanna come to share is based on their mutual respect for one another’s way of coping with their individual traumas, and their determination not to let their pain and its impact on their mental health, destroy them. They use their unique experiences to support each other while they solve mysteries as consulting detectives. I am toying with the idea of illustrating it. I really want it to be a work of art and be a visual experience for the reader. I want them to see themselves in Charlotte’s or Joanna’s shoes, to feel the empathy and understanding of Charlotte and Joanna’s physical and mental pain. I also have to make a good book cover, author’s bio, and back cover description before publishing. I’m hoping to have it published this summer.
-While I was writing a blog post about chronic pain and medical and physical trauma PTSD, during my research I kept coming across more and more information about it, and just kept writing. That blog post ended up being 30 pages long so I decided I wanted to do something with it that will help me grow my business and help my fellow Pain Warriors and Spoonies. I’ve been wanting to start a digital subscription service with monthly goodies and an accompanying newsletter but didn’t know where to start. I now have my first “booklet” completed in what is going to become a series of chronic pain themed booklets as part of my monthly swag for my subscribers. I can’t wait to set it all up.
-I am writing a book based on my blog posts, that is going to be sort of a conversation with myself…a conversation with my blog posts. This will allow me to delve further into each blog post’s topic and develop and expand on the concepts further with a heavy focus on supportive and attainable solutions and coping strategies. I want the blog posts I’m having a conversation with to tell a visual story, complete with the images I hand pick for each post. This book will be in colour and really be a visual treat to read.
- I am taking a couple of workshops this week and next that are going to help me level up and create even better content and products for my followers.
-I’m in the process of starting a global Facebook group, that is part education, part support, and part coping strategies. I want to use it to educate Pain Warriors around the world on how they can take back control and manage their chronic pain more effectively. Will keep you all updated and share the link once I’m all set up.
-I’m in the beginning stages of creating my introductory video and learning the 2 video editing software programs I’m using. I can be quite shy, so this is a huge learning curve for me, seeing myself in videos, narrating posts, and putting my face and my ideas out there for all the world to see. Of course my mind tells me many things, many lies, to which I am pushing back against and proving wrong.
-I’m in the beginning stages of forming some really great relationships with other online businesses to do things like collaborate on bigger projects, having guest bloggers post on my blog, and me on theirs, and networking my services to other professionals that can use them in their practices.
I think that’s a good start eh?! There are so many great things happening right now for me, and I feel like I’m starting to make some traction, which is exciting to me. I’ve not even been doing this for a year and I have met so many wonderful people and learned so many great things.
Thanks for allowing me the space, support and encouragement to share what I’ve got planned next for meredithhutton79 Chronic Creative Lifestyle Management.
